The GAANN Program
What is the Gaann Engineering Fellowship Program?
In 2009, the School of Engineering was awarded nearly $1 million in federal and matching annual funds to support Graduate Fellowships in four research/educational areas deemed critical to U.S. competitiveness.
The grants are provided by the U.S. Department of Education under the agency's Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) program. The GAANN program provides fellowship grants to support U.S. citizens as they pursue their doctoral degrees in fields deemed to be "areas of national need."
The funding supports GAANN research/education in four distinct areas (click on any of the four for details):

The School of Engineering invites prospective graduate students to apply to the GAANN Fellowship program. Students from traditionally underrepresented populations, including women and minority populations, are strongly encouraged to apply.
