Text:
J.L. Schnoor, Environmental Modeling, 1996, Wiley Interscience.
Assignments and Projects:
You will be assigned approximately 9 homework problems and two projects. The first project will require the use of the CMA model for the assessment of the fate and transport of organic chemicals in lakes and rivers. A thorough understanding of the model will be required in order to interpret the results. The second project will involve the development of your own model working in groups. This project will involve the conceptualization, development and testing of a model. You will work in groups.
Homework Policy:
All homework assignments should be submitted. Failure to submit homework assignments and projects will result in a lower grade. You should work in groups and try to maximize your understanding of the material.
Grading System:
If your overall grade is within the ranges below, then the respective letter grade will be: A> 90%, 80%<B<90%, 70%<C<80%, 60%<D<70. The letter grade ranges could change depending on the perfomance of the class.
1. MID-EXAM = 25%
2. FINAL EXAM = 25%
3. HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS = 25%
4. PROJECTS = 25%

Class Motto:
1. Team Work to Maximize Learning
2. Keep Asking Questions
3. Don't Leave Questions Unanswered
